The music-knowing world has spoken. Fleet Foxes is the best album debutant of 2008. The flannel-wearing beard-bearing chaps and their warm indie folk with fantastic vocal harmonies is indeed impressing and a compelling listen. But I'm still suprised that it managed to with a whole 2 % margin take the first prize. There's yet one month left and all the bloggers are preparing to set up their annual best of lists. I've already made my mind up on the best debutant and also the best album of the year. I think. Time will tell. A lot of opinions and feelings and emotions can change in one month, you know...

This week I've been thinking about what people might think about countries and their music scenes. Should music ever be associated with its geographical descent? Are there reasons to study the phenomena and analyze it. It's a deep question worth discussing, so let me know in the comments if you've got something to say!
