Videos I've watched lately, part 13

Ratatat's LP3 has spawned two more clips to their songs that once again makes good use of old phootage. Both Flynn's and Shempi's psychedelic qualities are being pronounced, to their advantage, to a stunning and intriguing effect. It's slightly disturbing watching the ABBA-members, who've been so hyped this year, with eyes and noses turned upside down. All of a sudden Shempi's clear but still dizzy melody suddenly feels sort of tantalizing the sound of pop music itself. Flynn was always the most wobbly and dope track of the album and its video only accentuates that when two TV hosts are jamming together in a most mind-jamming remixed way by the creators of the video. Both of these are very hypnotizing to watch.

I like that Alaska In Winter is trying to broaden the spectrum of his musical experience with videos but we don't really need a painfully obvious low-budget ugly-ass video that does nothing for the song but degrade it. The intentions were good but a better video could have been done even with less money. We've just seen it above...
