Introducing: The Lemur Blog's Exclusive Muxtape Project

You are reading my introduction to my newly started Muxtape Project! I've had this project in my mind for a few weeks and I have mentioned it a few times before but now I have finally got things rolling along. So therefore I welcome you to a new, fresh and exciting way to discover new artists or learn more about those you already know.

In The Lemur Blog's Exclusive Muxtape Project I, The Lemur, has simply asked artists I like, love or find interesting and think deserves a little more attention in new perspectives, to create their own Muxtapes! Muxtape.com is a very userfriendly site where you quickly sign up for free to create your own online mixtape. The tracks cannot be downloaded, which I think is good. Because then unlimited people can listen to these muxtapes completely legally and are able to wander freely in the seemingly endless world of Muxtapes that now exist to discover new music and wonderful mixes.

So I thought that I would love to see what artists and bands would do with a Muxtape. During the past few weeks I've been reaching out to a number of artists and bands and invited them to this project to create an exclusive Muxtape for initial distribution on this blog.

I've let these artists completely freely choose 12 tracks to put into their Muxtapes for The Lemur Blog - the result will be LEMUXTAPES! The only catch is: they have to write down, as long or as short as they'd like, a text describing why they chose each specific track. Wether it's a track linking emotionally to them, a track emitting nostalgy, a track that has inspired and helped them in their lives and their own music making, a track that with a funny or interesting personal story behind it, a track that they think deserve more attention, a simply loveable track, a simply hateable track or just a nice shit banger - the reasons have all been up to them. The question is if it's harder or easier to get such free frames to work with... It's their LEMUXTAPE, their vision, their theme, their rules, their world!

Accompanying each LEMUXTAPE is also a shorter 10 question interview to further help you get to know each artist and band. If you ask me, it's a unique opportunity for promotion for the artists and a unique opportunity for the readers and listeners to learn more about the artists who created the LEMUXTAPE and the artists whose tracks have been chosen for it.

From now on, in the right column of this blog you will be able to find this post and all the posts containing LEMUXTAPES so you can easily go back and browse through the archives if you've missed one or would like to continue reading and listening.
