To Remix And Entertain

I wasn't fond at all of To Protect And Entertain as some "lead single" from Ed Rec Vol. 3. To be honest, there was no "lead single" at all on that crappy compilation. None less than three of Busy P's label mates and subjects has remixed the song. Mr. Oizo is his usual goofy self and incorporates vocal snippets from KC & The Sunshine Band's chessy 70s disco hit That's The Way (I Like It) and ends it all with the all too well-known drum/handclaps from Queen's We Will Rock You. DJ Mehdi is more laidback 99 rap and also incorporates doom bells and a snippet from the intro of Justice's Genesis. I don't know if So Me is using any samples, but he did seem to like the line: "I heard at these rave things chicks get naked". I like and prefer these remixes over the original, they remixed and entertained. But it took a Canadian dancey duo outside the label to fully make good use of the song, and we can thank Crookers for another kick-ass dancefloor hit.
