Speaking of hip hop, which I don't listen to as much as other genres, but still I am pretty sure that Adam Tensta's debut album was my favourite hip hop album last year. It's A Tensta Thing dropped in September last year and boom! Swedish hip hop was hot again. Tensta's hip hop sure is fit for fight for an international market but I thought the name Tensta would have spread even further past a mention on Perez Hilton's blog by now. But I'm not here to just blab about Tensta today. I'm here to blab about the latest hot Swedish rapper: Lazee. You can see on the picture above that he's serious. Just as I am when I say that Lazee is rowdier, more humorous and edgier than Adam Tensta, not saying he's better. His single Rock Away is rocking away Sweden right now, just like Adam Tensta's My Cool did last autumn. The chorus of Rock Away is freaky, almost to the silly but on the right side of the verge. I love the video, it combines darker rock aesthetics with the glittery blingbling of hip hop. Very creddy. Furthermore I like the old school cgi effects that adds onto the clean polish to the video. I hate that his management has taken away the embed function for the youtube video. Tensta's Before U Know It, featuring Sophia Somajo on additional vocals, isn't a song that you would expect as a striking single and video release. But it's the theme of the song that makes it all so obvious and charming why Tensta wanted to get it out there. Even though Tensta is one of the coolest, in the word's true meaning, rappers around he shows a genuine love and compassion for his dearest ones on this track.
