Question of the week, week 11-12

Which is the best British indie rock band of the 2000s?

Arctic Monkeys 9 (20%)
Babyshambles 2 (4%)
Bloc Party 14 (32%)
Editors 3 (6%)
Foals 4 (9%)
Franz Ferdinand 7 (16%)
Klaxons 4 (9%)

Total votes: 43

British indie rock is HOT! 43 votes is a record here on The Lemur Blog and it can only prove that the genre is one of the most emotionally stirring. And now we all know the answer: BLOC PARTY IS THE BEST BRITISH INDIE ROCK BAND OF THE 2000'S! CONGRATULATIONS! I don't even remember which band I voted for. And I don't care, I couldn't possibly kill my darlings by voting for just one. They're all great!

Speaking of British indie rock: Almost every country has now chosen their representatives for Eurovision Song Contest. I've only heard Sweden's, Russia's, France's and Ireland's songs. Tomorrow I'll write more about what happened yesterday at the Swedish finals. I wasn't impressed, just as in the case with Russia. But Monsieur Tellier is my undoubted favourite in advance. Another highly interesting contestant this year is Ireland's Dustin The Turkey and the song Irelande Douze Pointe. He even tops Verka Serduchka and Lordi! Next year I hope Flat Eric will perform with a dope track produced by Mr Oizo as the representative for France. ESC needs this kind of refreshment and stir in the converging, coagulating schlager soup. It CAN be done seriously, though, as Georgia surprised us all with a fantastic, forgotten 1. Björk song from the Homogenic sessions or 2. forgotten Madonna song from the Ray Of Light sessions. Has Georgia got serious international potential in the independent/alternative music scene?

Now, time for the question this week. ESC is an event that arouses emotions and either you hate it or love it. But this week's question is about Georgia.

Do you think the country of Georgia might be an undiscovered pearl of indie/alternative music?

Yes
No

The poll closes next Sunday at 12:00.
