Francis And The Lights

The most striking unsigned band right now is Francis And The Lights. With a mere 5393 myspace visits this band is a severe hitwarning. They are spreading their debut EP, conveniently titled Striking, on the internet for free download right now. When I listen to it I inhale an aura of 80's pop, soul and funk while the front singer's incredible voice howls often reaching falsetto. The band has a sense for both passionate storms and beautiful quiet calm when they succeed in creating, despite the 80's sound, timeless songs. This is nothing but striking!

Here's a video that proves the band is as funky and groovy as Hot Chip would ever like to be. There's a charmingly loveable eccentricity about the lead singer's energetic performance. Apparently they're performing a track not featured on the EP called The Top which lives on nothing but two rhythmic drum sets an 80's synth and the lead singer's vivid charisma.
