Fardoche

In the seemingly never-ending stream of electro these days it feels good to lean on some of the more alternative and innovative producers. Quebec based Fardoche is one of those. He puts the profilic Ed Banger style of electro into a less-dancey more-funny/stylish perspective. He uses the same dead-pan, electrified, French-sounding or French voices as Mr. Oizo does in the Ed Rec Vol. 2 intro and in his own Transexual, to a stunning result. Disco Double Date sounds like an unreleased Mr. Oizo track. The imitation is so accurate I don't know wether to listen to it as an ironic parody or just a serious alternative sound-a-like. Anyway, Fardoche is a name worth looking out for. He says he hopes his debut album will be out this spring and so do I, because he has really touched my electro-nerdy nerve. Gotta love his quirky synths and twisted vocals! Perhaps it's only a matter of time before Pedro Winter adopts him into the Ed Banger family.
